ASE Electronics retain as a Men Futsal champion and B. Braun Medical upset Knowles Electronics in Women category


ASE Electronics represented by team ASE 'B' retain their champion in 2008 FIZ Futsal Tournament for the second time after won it in 2006. The tournament was held on 6th April 2008 at Safira Sports Planet, Seberang Jaya. ASE 'B' defeated the rookie team; Sumitomo Metal (SMI) Electronics in final match 4-0 after in a dramatics match in front of PMG Chairman; Encik Zainol Zakaria and PMG Sports Chairman; Tuan Haji Wan Mohammad Haji Wan Mahamood.


ASE 'B' was group D winner won in second round match defeat team Jabil 'A' 2-0 before trash out Renesas 'A' 6-0 in quarter-final match. Semi final ASE 'B' won 3-2 defeat B. Braun Medical 'C'.


Sumitomo Metal (SMI) Electronics also came from the same group with ASE Electronics 'B' as one of the best 3rd placing from group D,E & F survive in their second round match defeat another rookie team Seagate 'B' ASE Electronics; ASE 'A'. Sumitomo won 2-1 in this match. Quarter-final match they defeat another ASE Electronics team; ASE 'A' with the same score; 2-1. In semifinal match Sumitomo defeated 2006 runner-up Linear in a dramatics match and won 3-2.


In Women category; B. Braun Medical team upset the defending champion; Knowles Electronics in Women category in a 2008 PMG FIZ Futsal Tournament.

Knowles Electronics the only team in the women group won all theirs 5 matches loose to B. Braun Medical in a penalty shot out after drew 1-1 in full time match. Knowles leading before half time 1-0 but the B. Braun Medical bounce back in a second half.

B. Braun Medical won in penalty shot out 3-1.

I believe win or lose is not the matter but the important is that the bridge of relations interaction and cooperation among the players are very much important” his said in the tournament close up with the organizing committees.
